We often receive a lot of questions about how BARBRI 1L Mastery and BARBRI Law Preview differ. So, we thought we’d take a moment to provide some clarity. BARBRI 1L Mastery is a set of study aids developed for current law students who seek clarity and practice as they grapple with black-letter law they learn during the semester.  The BARBRI 1L Mastery package gives 1Ls access to detailed outlines, final exam review lectures and practice questions for all 1L subjects.

By contrast, BARBRI Law Preview is a self-paced, on-demand law school prep course offered the summer before 1L. The program readies entering students for the rigors of law school and teaches the skills needed for academic excellence. With Law Preview, leading professors from top law schools provide an overview of the core first-year courses, including Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law, Property, and Torts. Beyond substantive doctrine, with the help of Law Preview’s faculty, students also develop resources, techniques, and strategies for academic success.

So, unlike 1L Mastery, Law Preview is not a study aid; rather, it’s a carefully calculated program that prepares and positions serious incoming students to excel in law school, and ultimately, to flourish as lawyers.

Now in anticipation of your next question, the answer is “YES!” BARBRI 1L Mastery is provided free to students who enroll in BARBRI Law Preview.
